About

Seminars

Seminars at the Burinkan:

Currently, seminars at the Burinkan Dojo typically happen in the Fall/Winter timeframe, making it a great opportunity to come down from the cold North to the milder Florida temperatures.

Seminars typically surround teaching methods and principle-driven application methods, both before the teaching of kata, as well as for the purposes of better guiding kata applications to stay in-line with the principles of the style. These seminars are informed by principles, training methods, and drills from Fuzhou and Hakka martial arts that may have influenced the ancestors of Okinawan karate.

Upcoming Seminars:

  • Goju-ryu kata seminar
  • Chinese pole form workshop
